5th Annual Open House/Holiday Market
It's that time of year, Christmas is on everyone's mind and cria are in the fields. We have 4 cria so far to steal your heart at our Open House on Small Business Saturday, November 30, 2024. The farm will be open from 11 am until 4 pm to visitors. We offer an educational experience with our artisan friends demonstrating their fiber arts skills - handspinning, weaving, needle felting, and knitting. Learn about alpacas such as where they came from, what they like to eat, what kind of animal they are like. The alpacas will be dressed in their Chistmas finery and will be more than willing take a treat from your hand. Don't worry, they are very gentle about it. As I said there will be at least 4 cria frolicking the field to ooh and ahh over.
Do you want to shop? Well, you will be coming to the right place! we have handcrafted items from fiber from our own award winning herd as well as items from the American herd and Fair Trade. Just to give you and idea of what's for sale. For the gardener on your list, we have Alpaca "Tea" for plants only. For the crafter there is raw fleece from the alpaca in several colors or roving, felt sheets, rug yarn , and yarn in both natural colors are dyed. Of course the will be a large assortment of alpaca socks for your feet's pleasure since they are antimicrobial, moisture wicking, and toasty. Their are many items made from alpaca from cardigan sweaters to hats, gloves, scarves. Christmas decorations, kitchen towels, alpaca rugs. The list goes on and on. We have not forgotten the kids on your shopping list - books, coloring books, fidget toys, finger puppets, stuffies.
The only thing we can not offer is a lot of parking. We like to keep the limited amount of parking available for guests with disabilities. If possible, please park on the street. The street has been cleared of fallen trees. Since alpacas are prey animals, they are nervous around strange dogs so we do request the you keep your furry friend at home. And unfortunately, there are no restroom facilities available.
We look forward to seeing you on Nov 30. Our address is 262 Hollis Dr Spartanburg, SC 29307. GPS will get you here. We are in the middle of a subdivision so don't think you are lost. There will be signs posted to direct you to the farm
